Truth & Reconciliation in Concert

Part of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities Truth and Reconciliation series, this concert draws on the power of the arts to depict realities of race in our present day, framed around themes of roots, realities, reconciliation, and rebirth.

Our 2015-2016 series Truth and Reconciliation points to the historical realities of race relations in America, but also asks questions of what a new reality of truth-telling and reconciliation-making might look like. Drawing on the power of the arts to depict human realities and new possibilities, this concert/exhibit will be framed around four themes: roots (looking backward), realities (looking at the present), reconciliation (looking at possibilities for healing), and rebirth (looking toward a ‘new day’).
