Grants, Residencies, and Other Funding Opportunities

Collaborative Teaching

Supported by a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, this program is designed to build bridges between courses or between the classroom and the non-academic community. The purpose of this initiative is to connect work in different classrooms to one another and/or to support the realization of an idea or a project that emerges from this collaboration. This program can also provide opportunities to bring interdisciplinarity into upper-level undergraduate and/or graduate classrooms through collaborative teaching. Funding can cover expenses directly related to faculty team teaching, including use of multi-media resources; guest speakers; faculty/student travel to museums, to performances, or for learning-related projects in other locations; and/or a course buy-out for one faculty member to facilitate team teaching. Well before the application deadline, the project's faculty coordinator(s) is/are encouraged to schedule a meeting with the IAH Associate Director to discuss the nature and goals of the proposed project.

Maximum grant award: $7,500

Deadline: There is no set deadline; nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis until funds are no longer available. Prospective applicants should contact the IAH Director to inquire about the availability of funds.
